Why developers are exhausted
A survey last month, "The State of Devs 2026", revealed an interesting fact:
Developers are exhausted.
To quote from their blog post:
"It is an uncertain time to be a developer.
This was [our first] survey to ask about developers' mental state, and the results hint at some worrying changes in what it feels like to be a software developer, too.
Around two thirds of respondents had felt less motivated and more cynical recently. Around half had struggled to focus, procrastinated more, felt unusually drained, and felt less accomplished and effective at work."
Yikes.
In fact, when the survey asked:
"Which emotions best describe how you currently feel about the tech industry?"
The most common answer was 'Exhausted'. In fact, OVER HALF of respondents checked 'exhausted' as one of the emotions they're feeling right now.
This exhaustion is bound to happen when everything keeps changing, and you're forced to work in the face of such extreme uncertainty.
And that's not even counting the longer-term effects on mental health. Feeling disillusioned, anxious, overwhelmed.
This is why I built a 'Financial Security' track into Boosted Code.
Which to be clear, does not include any claims or guarantees about boosting your income. Anyone who promises that is trying to scam you.
But it does give you new tools to work with. From building a professional audience, to becoming more creative with your ideas, to building your "soft" skills, and more. Even ways to start generating side income outside of your job.
Most of which I have not seen anyone else teaching anywhere, by the way. I am not sure why; it's valuable stuff.
But it's clear how important it is right now. Maybe more than ever before.
Read about it at the link below.
P.S. Even better is the Boosted Code community. In fact, I deliberately designed Boosted Code so that the community and curriculum are tied together.
After all, it's hard to talk about these financial-security topics with random folks. They just don't understand what you're yapping about.
But since everyone in Boosted Code has access to the same course modules, you have a common basis for talking with each other, learning and doing together.
Something to think about!
